This specially designed motorhome has been designed from scratch with the disabled user in mind. There is a lift to gain access to the vehicle, and the interior has been carefully designed with access and ease of use of the Disabled in mind.

 

Wheelchair access via lift into the motorhomeThe electric platform that is used to gain entry to the vehicle can support a load of up to 200KG, and the doorway is extremely wide as well.

 

The campervan is large and roomy inside, with very wide access areas. There is a wheelchair friendly bathroom and shower. With all this free space, it will still comfortably accomodate up to 4 people. The cabover bed and rear single beds are equipped with protection nets, for safety. The motorhome has a CD/Radio, and seatbelts for 4 people.

United States

 

Lift on Access Modified MotorhomeIf you are visiting the United States, one of our suppliers there has Access Modified Motorhomes available in:

This motorhome features a complete rebuild from the wheels up with Accessibility in mind. There is a chairlift to load into the vehicle. The electric lift system has a 31 inch width and 400 lbs maximum weight capacity. The wheelchair door width is 45 inches and the height is 63 inches. There is a shower seat and raised toilet, and the bathroom has been laid out for easy access all round.

 

The motorhome can accomodate 2 adults and 2 kids, and it must be noted that an able-bodied travel companion is required to operate some of the systems.

 

Bathroom Area in Access Modified MotorhomeThe motorhome does not have a wheelchair tie-down option. The supplier recommends that the wheelchair-bound individual transfer from the wheelchair to one of the seats in the motorhome while the vehicle is in motion. If the wheelchair is electric, it will probably be heavy enough not to need anything. If the wheelchair is not electric, it should have the wheel-breaks on or should be folded.

 

For the Disabled traveller who wishes to drive themselves, the supplier can help. They have Hand control systems are available on a first-come-first-serve basis provided that the request is made at least 7 days before the scheduled pick-up date.
