Puerto del Rosario is a friendly, welcoming city, home to nearly 50% of the island's population, and a good place to go to practice your Spanish! (Although be aware that the Fuerteventuran accented Spanish can be tricky if you're used to language tapes!)
The city is also a good place to visit for the many carnivals throughout the year, notably the main one in October, the Fiesta de la Virgen del Rosario, and the international kite festival.
